There is one sure way to end up in a survival situation, it's getting lost in the wilderness.
Our Land Navigation training will give you a working knowledge of land navigation skills that will provide you with the freedom and confidence to travel the wilderness whether on- or off-trail.
Our Land Navigation program of training is designed as a series of progressive courses as follows:

Level I - Basics of Map and Compass

Level III - Advanced (Natural & Night) Navigation
Land Navigation - Level 1
Level I instills the foundation of knowledge necessary for Land Navigation. We will learn how to read and interpret Canadian Topographic Maps, and effectively use a compass.
The course will focus on the theoretical training of map & compass as well as practical demonstrations and activity, finishing with a short exercise.

Land Navigation - Level I (LN I)
Prerequisites: None
Duration: 1 full day
Cost: $100.00 + tax ($113.00 in Total)

Land Navigation - Level II
Level II builds on the foundation of skills learned in Level I with additional techniques and their practical application to enhance one's ability to navigate across an unknown landscape.
Day 1:
Instructors will jump straight into plotting a route on a map before heading into the bush for evaluation of skills - we aim to challenge you! The day will finish in the classroom discussing navigational techniques.
Day 2:
The instructor will review and will conclude any learning and discussion from Day 1, then head straight into the bush for a day of practicing navigational techniques.

Note: it is expected that the participants already know all the skills from Level I, however, the instructors will provide assistance on previous instructions.

Land Navigation - Level II (LNII)
Prerequisites: Land Nav I is recommended (there will be no review of foundational knowledge)
Duration: 2 full days
Cost: $200.00 + tax ($226.00 in Total)
Land Navigation - Level III
Level III takes all the skills previously learned and puts them to the test on a 5-day trip into the wilderness.
In addition, instructors will add some additional topics which will be covered as listed below.

Duration: 5-day wilderness trip, plus preparation ahead of time due to the nature of this course, each trip is different and tailored to the abilities and interests of the participants.
